The seminarians of the Pontifical Irish College, Rome dedicated this year’s College Lenten charity appeal to the work of ALONE in Ireland and the Circolo San Pietro in Rome, so that the Irish College supported worthy causes in Ireland and in the City of Rome.

ALONE provides befriending initiatives, supportive housing and other services to elderly people who find themselves alone in Ireland. For details of the work of ALONE, visit the website, www.alone.ie

The Circolo San Pietro (Circle of Saint Peter) operates night hostels, family houses, psychological and legal help, economical kitchens, and other outreaches to the poor in Rome as well as assisting the Pope in his charitable works. For details on the work of the Circolo San Pietro, visit the website (in Italian) www.circolosanpietro.org

The total amount raised was €2250, which was divided equally between the two charities. The presentation was made to the Circolo San Pietro after Sunday Mass on 26th June 2016, and a cheque has been posted to ALONE. Thank you to all who contributed during the Lenten season.
