N. 431.264.
From the Vatican, 16th April 1998
Dear Monsignor Fleming,
The Holy Father wishes me to express his gratitude for the volume of Father John Colgan’s Trias Thaumaturga, containing the lives of Saints Patrick, Brigid and Collumcille, which you presented to him at the Special Audience for the Pontifical Irish College on 28 March 1998. He is aware of the historical importance of this work, both as a record of the early history of Christianity in Ireland and as a significant example of the contribution which the Irish Colleges in various European countries made to the culture of their time.
His Holiness asks God to sustain you and the community of the Irish College in the grace and love of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to fill you with his peace.
I am also pleased to convey to you the Apostolic Blessing.
Yours sincerely in Christ,
+ G.B.Re. Substitute.
