This book contains papers given at a conference in the Irish College, Rome to commemorate the fortieth anniversary of the opening of Vatican II. The speakers included Joseph Fitzmyer SJ on biblical renewal since the Council; Gavin D’Costa on inter-religious dialogue, and Dermot A. Lane on the Irish experience of the Second Vatican Council.
The collection discusses various aspects such as the perception of the Council as still a work in progress, in particular with regard to our appreciation of the bible in the church, our relationships with other religions and the implementation of the Council’s vision in the Irish Church.
